Terms of use and standard project terms.

Last updated 16 October 2026. These terms apply to this website and summarise how our projects work. Your signed proposal sets out the details for your project.

About these terms

This website is operated by ELO Technologies (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/009895/07), “ELO”, “we” or “us”. By using the site you agree to these terms. If a signed proposal says something different, the proposal applies to that project.

Prices on this website

Prices are in South African rand and are a guide. Ranges depend on the size of the project. Your proposal gives one fixed price, and only a signed proposal is binding. We may change the prices on this site at any time; a change never affects a proposal you have already received.

Proposals

  • Every project starts with a proposal listing each feature, what is out of scope, the price and the payment schedule.
  • Proposals are valid for 30 days from the date they are issued.
  • Work starts once you accept the proposal and the deposit is paid.

Payment

  • Builds: 50% deposit to start and 50% before go-live.
  • Invoices are payable within 7 days unless your proposal says otherwise.
  • Changes outside the agreed scope are quoted before we start and billed at our hourly rate.

Care plans and hosting

  • Care plans are billed monthly in advance from go-live.
  • Fees increase by 6% a year on the anniversary of the start date.
  • Support time included in a plan is for that month and doesn’t roll over.

Ownership of the work

ELO owns the code we write. When a project is paid in full, you receive a licence to use your website or app for your business for as long as you keep it running. Your content, logos and data remain yours.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide content, feedback and approvals on time, as set out in the proposal.
  • Make sure the content you give us is yours to use.
  • Keep your login details safe.

Liability

We take care to build and host reliable systems, but we can’t guarantee they will be free of every error or interruption. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for a project is limited to the fees you paid us for it in the previous 12 months.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
